Flying to Africa! wheee

Greetings to all who decided to click my facebook weblink!

Because many people have requested for me to update them about my happenings away in Africa this summer, I have decided to create a blog. I used to have a Xanga in high school, but I would not want to pick up my blogging from a site that reminds me too much of my past. I want to start anew, especially since my experiences at Berkeley have torn down much of the innocence and blissful ignorance I guarded myself with at Whitney High School. In addition many of my viewpoints and values have shifted, and I have grown into an adult who no longer follows the many of the ideals I held in the past. Hence, I am recounting my new passage of life in a new blog.

This summer I am going to Sudan in hopes of implementing a long-term primary health care plan for many of the civilians in Eastern Equatoria. I am doing this with a team of students and some professionals who are already ardently working there. I am going to recount my traveling experiences in this blog so that all of you, and mainly my mother, have a sense of what is going on there and what is happening to me. Hopefully I will be safe and will live to keep this updated! Just kidding mom! I will be with a team of trusted people, and I will be safe. So no worries!

Tomorrow morning I leave for New York via Delta Airlines. Then on Monday morning I will meet up with the team, Emma and George, and fly to London via British Airways. British Airways will take me to Nairobi, Kenya, and then we will take a flight to Juba, the capital of Southern Sudan.

I will see you there!

Reminders:
Linda and Carolyn, please send the check to my mom still and the copy of the lease.
